Health Insurance - Individual, Group and Medicare

Major Medical Insurance:

Major medical insurance offers comprehensive coverage of nearly all expensive medical treatments, procedures, and exams. This type of insurance is an effective way to be sure that all major medical expenses are covered. Talk with Susan Moore about combining this insurance with a health plan that covers preventative care.

Our agency represents numerous, well-respected carriers so that we can offer the best plan for your family or business:

Managed Care:

These plans involve an arrangement between the insurer and a selected network of healthcare providers. The Managed Care Plan provides lower cost in exchange for more limited choice. There are three types of Managed Care Plans:

  • Health Maintenance Organization (HMO): With this plan, you select a primary care physician who directs your care and refers you to other in-network providers when needed.

  • Preferred Provider Organization (PPO): This is a combination of an HMO and Fee-For-Service Plan. A PPO offers the flexibility of going out of network, but at a higher cost.

  • Point-Of-Service: This is a combination of an HMO and PPO Plan. A POS primary care physician can refer you to providers out of network. Again, the increased choice can result in higher cost.

Short Term Health:

This type of insurance is purchased to prevent a lapse in coverage and is ideal for people between jobs, who’ve just graduated, or who are waiting for Medicare or other health insurance to begin. Talk with a Susan Moore & Associates agent about your options.

Disability Insurance:

Disability insurance replaces a portion of your income if you become disabled and are no longer able to work. Consider that over 30 percent of all employees will become disabled before they retire…then call Susan Moore & Associates to make sure you’re covered.

Medicare Supplement Insurance:

For those turning 65, let Susan Moore & Associates show you plans that help protect you against expensive Medicare coverage gaps. Remember, if you rely only on Medicare to cover all your medical expenses, you could end up paying over $50,000 in a single year!

Long Term Care Insurance:

A study by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services indicates that people age 65 and older face a 40 percent lifetime risk of entering a nursing home. And one year in a nursing home can average more than $50,000. With this in mind, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners says you should look for a long term care policy that includes:

  • At least one year of nursing home or home health care coverage, including intermediate and custodial care.

  • Coverage for Alzheimer’s disease.

  • An inflation protection option.

  • A coverage outline that systematically describes the policy’s benefits.

  • A guarantee that the policy can’t be cancelled or not renewed because you get older or your health deteriorates.

  • The right to return the policy within 30 days and receive a premium refund.

  • No requirement that policyholders first be hospitalized to receive benefits, first receive skilled nursing care before receiving intermediate or custodial care, or first receive nursing home care before receiving home health care.

Susan Moore & Associates offers policies that meet these requirements for your peace of mind.

Dental Insurance:

Our dental insurance plans provide you with the coverage you need to promote good dental health.

Health Savings Accounts (HSAs):

HSAs are special savings and investment accounts designed to be used only in conjunction with qualifying high deductible health insurance plans. If you have an HSA eligible health insurance plan, you may open an HSA and make deposits on a tax deferred basis up to an annual limit, so long as these funds are used to pay for qualifying medical expenses. HSA funds, however, can’t be used to pay premiums. Explore the many benefits of opening an HSA with a Susan Moore & Associates agent.

Basic Medical Insurance:

At a minimum, basic medical insurance is imperative. One of the major causes of bankruptcy in the United States is unpaid medical bills due to lack of health insurance coverage. And people who don’t have insurance are more likely to postpone medical care, resulting in serious illness.

Basic health insurance is a low-cost, high deductible insurance that provides some degree of coverage in the case of illness or injury. Susan Moore & Associates offers several policies that have a low monthly premium and provide coverage for hospitalization, specialist visits, and surgical procedures.
